The Sailing Ship

De Nieuwe Zorg

The ship, a Dutch tjalk, was built in 1896 and was then already named Nieuwe-Zorg. He has always held it for five years. The Nieuwe-Zorg was originally built for freight transport and has transported various types of goods such as peat, stones and wood. Around 1950 she was converted into a houseboat.

A new destination

Later in the 70s the ship got its current destination. As a sailing passenger ship, it reminds guests of past times and offers the comfort of today.
 
On board the Nieuwe-Zorg you will find a cozy day room, a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove and oven, a shower, two toilets, sleeping accommodation for 20 people spread over three four and four double cabins.

Every cabin has a sink. Furthermore, the ship is equipped with central heating, running hot and cold water, 220V and 24V .:

The Volharding is a robust ship and is equipped with many comforts, such as: 
  • Dimensions: length 26 meters, width 5.5 meters, depth 1 meter 
  • Sail comfort: luxury teak benches
  • Safety: high railing and sufficient lifejackets. The ship sails under the inspection of the shipping inspectorate.
